God is good all the time! It really is true, at least it was today. I woke up about 20 minutes later than I wanted to so I could get to the dreaded DMV. I got down there at like 9:45 am and needed to be out by 11:15 am. I got out at 11:10 am! I have a registered car and license plates now. My dad may bring it tomorrow night if D or I can bring the plates to him while he’s at work. I’m not doing vanity plates because the ones I got are so funny. Our wedding theme is a monogram theme, the first 3 letters are our monogram backwards (instead of A-last initial-D it’s flipped) and the last 4 numbers are the month and year my little sister was born! How funny is that. I love it.
first thing’s first (why do I now have Biggie in my head)!! LOL
119 days till graduation!
Less than 15 months to the wedding! Not doing a moving countdown for awhile longer but projected to be December or January. Saw a dream house in Kenilworth but I really want to ultimately (like w/in 5-10 years) move the Cranford, it has virtually no crime, very residential suburbia, great schools, all that jazz including high property taxes and few houses below $400K. We may get a condo or coop in Union county by the end of the year though. May either sell it when we want to have kids/a school age child and then move to Cranford.
Last but certainly not least….
Dad brought me the paperwork (title and bill of sale), I’m going to the DMV Tuesday morning before I head to school to register it. Still considering vanity plates. The one I want is still available but not telling till I decide if I want them.
Dad has my car in his driveway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s done, it’s over…the examiner was so mean. she was yelling at me and really nasty. She took off bullshit points but not enought to fail me
I’ve got my temporary license and all right now. She didn’t even tell me I passed then made me sign something then got out the car and didn’t even close the door. My instructor said she looked mean and pissed too, he told her thanks and she grumbled at him. I called my mom and dad, D and my friend Rachel. D’s mom was here when I got back home so i told her too! I’m so happy. 3rd time was a charm today!!!!!
Got back from the final driving lesson. The guy says he thinks I will do well. I am about to call the old driving guy and tell him I don’t need him to take me to the road test tomorrow. LOL. His car is such a piece of crap! transmission is going, it pulls to the right so the wheel is never straight then when you step on the gas it hardly moves and sounds like you’re racing the engine. Not taking that trap to the road test again. I better pass this time. No word on the camry yet. About to write a late paper for crim clinic and then do some PMBR. I may baby sit my little sister tomorrow.
Some good news for a change, I got a call from Princeton Review. I have an interview/audition next Thursday and then if they like my style I’ll get to start training in February on the weekends. I think way back when I applied the salary was like $20 an hour. I can work 10 hours on the weekend and still make about $200. That would be so great now that I’ll be a gas consumer. I can also keep doing it after I find a real legal job on the side, I mean we have a wedding to pay for and a house to buy even before that!
It’s been a few days. What can I say. School really sucks. To those who think 3rd year is easy, you must have more luck than I. I hate it. I only have 4 classes and 14 credits yet there is so much work to be done. I can’t wait for it to be over 122 effin’ days man. A little over 4 months. Went to Legal Aid today, got my ID card, it came out cute. Meeting with my supervisor there next weeks since I have the dreaded 3rd road test Friday. I’m going driving again tomorrow after school just to try to get used to the car I’m using for the road test again. I’ve only driven it twice. No word on my car yet (as in dad bought it and has it in his possession). I want my chattel! LOL for all of you legally inclined readers. Until next time…
126 days! Tee hee.
It’s green, 10 years old, 67K miles (odometer not rolled back), pristine and clean and in a few days will be mine! My dad put a deposit to hold my ’96 camry! There was a little issue with the title so the guy has to get it inspected to have NJ give it a good title and then I’ll still have to have it inspected here in NY. Not sure of the whole process though. I need to get it registered, plates and all that and my insurance. I’m going with just liability since the car is 10 years old already and it might cost more to fix it than buy another car. Who wants to come on a road trip??!!!!???
I guess I forgot to post that it was D’s 27th birthday yesterday! We did nothing. I went to school, he stayed home. I got that last grade and thankfully it was an A. I got an A in a 5 credit class! I got a B and three not good grades! 16 credits down though, that’s all that matters. I need 14 more credits and it’s over. Law School graduate. At this point, I just want a job where I’ll make the most money, not because I’m materialist but because I I have so much money to payback. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t regret the debt I put myself in, just going to law school. Regardless of my desire to be in this profession, I hate debt. Other than school loans I have no debt. It’s not my style. Debt in my opinion is like a noose around your neck and someone waiting to kick the chair from under your feet.
Hoping dad gets that ’96 camry with the v6 engine for me tomorrow. I may need to have an alarm (hoping he installs it) and a CD player installed. A cheap JVC with remote control is only 119 at J&R. I also saw a 6 disc changer from Pioneer for $139. I’m hoping my step-dad can install those. Having a mechanic as a step-dad has its perks. This one should fit into the car and it’s a Sony. http://www.compuvest.com/Description.jsp;jsessionid=asOOWZeaRs3gq3nqMJ?iid=135914
